AC|GI DENTALLY BROWNED

'The body of William; McNair (73). an old ago pensioner, was found in a water-hole near his whare at Rata yesterday. .It was thought the deceased was climbing .a fence on a, short cut home when he fell into the hole, and being unable unable to rise, was drowned. At the inquest a, .verdict was returned that death was caused by his accidentally falling into the hole and being drowned.

WELLINGTON. Aug. 7. Afc an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the Wellington Aleut Axporfc Company. it was resolved to reduce the capital of the company to £150,000,000 and to authorise the issue of new capital to the extent ol £IOO,OOO. ,£50,00 of the new issue is to carry an 8 per cent, dividend.
A LINESMAN KILLED
WELLINGTON. Aug. 7
Maurice O’Kane, a linesman empolyed by the Hutt Valley Power Board, fell from a pole near Porirua and was killed. /
