DETAILS OF REDUCTIONS

Particulars of the freight reductions secured by the Dairy Pi’oduee Control Board in the recent agreement with the shipping companies are now to hand from the secretary of the board. The rates under the present contract, which does not expire until August 31 1927, are as follows: Butter. —4s per box until August 31, 1927. Cheese. —29-32nds of a penny per lb until October 31, 1926, and Jths of a penny nor lb thereafter until August 31, 1927. The following reductions have been secured : A. 7-J per cent, decrease on the rates ruling for the final year of the! presentcontract. the reduction to take effect from August 3, 1926, and A new contract for a period of three years, commencing ah September 1, 1927, at the following rates: —: Butter. —From September 1, 1927, to August 31. 1929, 4* per box, less 7-J per cent. From September 1, 1929, to August 31. 1930, 4s per box. less 12J per cent. Cheese. —From September 1, 1927, to August 31, 1929, id per lb, less 7* per cent. From September 1, 1929, to August, 31, 1930, id per lb, loss 12£ per rent. Tboi reduction commencing at August, 1926, on’v applied to produce, the loading of which commenced on or after that date.
