ROYAL TOUR

DUKE AND DUCHESS OF YORK.

ALTERATION IN PLANS. THE VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND

BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT Received 11.35 a.m. to-day. LONDON, July 5. It is understood that the Duke and Duchess of York are leaving England in the Renown in the middle of January iby the Suez route, calling at Colombo in accordance with custom. Thence they go to Fremantle, Ilobart and to New Zealand, where they will spend a month. Thereafter they proceed to Australia for the Canberra ceremony, which will be the culminating, instead of the initial function 'of the tour. The Duke and Duchess of York will travel in Australia until the end of May. These changes in the original proposed’ itinerary iare- designed to allow the Royalty to escape the relatively generous Australian sunshine. Their departure in January ensures the coolest passage through the Red Sea. The decision to tour New Zealand prior to Australia was animated by the same desire.—Sydney Sun Cables.
