BICCARTON: TRAINING NOTES.

Training work at Rie.carton was watched by a large crowd of spectators. After a, light rain overnight, fog made its appearance, but soon dispersed. The, outside of the course proper was; open., Moorland' ran half a mile in olse.c. Rory o’ .Moore ran a. mile in 1.50 2-5. Tuki did a working gallop over a, mile and, a-quarter. Precious did. six furlongs easily in 1.19, and Paper Boy beat Cyrence over five in 1.3 4-5.,

Ngata and Comical did a. mile in 1.40 1-5, finishing- together. Centrepiece, and Rivalry were well matched over seven in 1.30 1-5. Green Cloth bent Serotina. over half a mile, In 53se,c.

Chickwheat was slightly better than Le Choueasi over six furlongs in 1.10 3-5.

Brigadier Bill and Birkenose did, a working gallop of a mile. ■Paddon did half a mile very easily in 52- 1-5, carrying a, big weight. Papier Rose and Crossbow went half a mile.

Birkenelln, Kawini and O.inalm were schooled once round' the fences on the course proper. Kawini fenced carefully at the .start, but then, jumped really well, while the other pair both jumped) well. The three finished, close together, hut Kawini had a slight advantage. Sun Up reeled 1 off seven furlongs by himself in 1.30, showing great speed in the early part.

-Lucullent and Bandalero were, companions in ;a. good school over four hurdles. Nippy beat Deucalion and Rapier over seven furlongs in 1.30 2-5. Passin’ Through and .Maunga. did a working gallop over a, mile. Warhaven and Co.ehy-Bond.bu did seven furlongs in 1.33 2-5 without being; hurried. Charlatan finished well, beating Tenterfield by a. length, with Banui three lengths away, over a mile and a half in 2.46 2-5. Pink Note, Frenchman and Apache were, associated in a working gallon over :a- mile. Tigerland and Lading did, a mile in 1.49 2-5. Savanara beat Bonomel over a- mile in 1.47 3-5. Oriflamb beat Ascetic over half a mile in 52 2-5. Jarre,'tei,re 1 and Gay Queen sprinted half :a, mile in. 50 1-5. Sir Roy beat- .Cultivation over half a mile ini 51 2-5. Kendal did strong work twice round on the sand. Listening Post and Red Kriss did steady work on the sand. (Stay andl .Solfhiite did five furlongs in 1.3 3-5, the, former with a big weight. Gataipuke was tried at the hurdles and then over :a few steeplechase fences, but. would not jum.p, and was then exercised in the jumping ring. A number of tho previous, day’s arrivals did steady racing. To day’s arrivals from the, north include Master Peter, Dubious, 'Sarty, Olympic, Royal Diadem, Rouex, and Ladv Gay.
