SOCCER CLUB’S SOCIAL. The Auroa Soccer Club’s euchre party and dance held im the hiaill on. Wednesday evening proved a great success, aver 30 visitors looming fm-ro Awatuna and some- from Otakeho. Tihei proceedings were very pleasant. Miss Heal aicted as M.O. for card playing. 21 tables were« occupied at euchre and a fair number of onlookers, watched the progress of play. -Supper -was handed round by the -members of the soccer club and the local ladies-. Miss F. Davies, Miisis Ivy Oalder. and Mr. Jackson Obliged the company with songs, and Miss Heal and; Mrs. W. C. Williams contributed a. duet, all item* being gireatly appreciated. * Much interest was displayed wlie-n such dances laJsi the polka., barn* dance, and miatzuirka were announced, the old time numbers reviving memories by the older people of happy occasions in the past. Music for dancing was supplied by Miisis. Clakler, Miss Heal, and Mr. Austin*. A most enjoyable function- concluded at 1 a.m. The ladies’ and gentlemen’s prizes were won -respectively by Mrs. Kruise and Mr. J. ‘ Millar, -while the “booby” trophy fell to Mrs. J. Cameron,. Mr. Grubb, Stratford, donated the ladies trophy. The club wishes to thank the public for the .support given and ini particuila'r to thank the ladies* for their help with .supper haskets*. The next 'social is t-o* he held on Friday, June 25. The Auroa, residents are asked to make every effort to- attend, the return visit to Aiwatuna. on Tuesday next.
