PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr L. J. Bull, postmaster at Hawera, is at present relieving the chief postmaster (New Plymouth), who is absent on leave. Mr J. W. Yelvin ,is acting postmaster at Hawera. Many friends in Hawera of Mr. H. T. Button, curator at t,he Acclimatisation Society’s hatcheries, will sincerely regret, to hear of liis death last night at his residence in Glover Hoad. He had been suffering for some months, and at the end of last year had undergone a serious operation, hut had then returned home ip January. He had improved in health for a time, but was far from well, and arrangements were being made for a rest and change. However, he got worse, and passed away last night. He leaves a’ widow and two children, with whom much sympathy will be felt in their sorrow. He had been in Hawera about three years, and previously had been with the Otago Society, and was recognised as an authority on pisciculture
