WEDDING.

RENAT—SEVER NE. A quiet but exceedingly attractive wedding was solemnised at St. Mark’s Church, Kaponga, on Wednesday, January 13, when Karen, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. H. Severne, of Kaponga, was married to Wilfred Ernest, youngest son of Mrs and the late Mr G. Eenai, of Wellington. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. Solomon. Large clusters of blue delphiniums and the harmonising tints of pink and mauve sweet were tastefully grouped Lv Miss Bentley in an attractive decorative scheme arranged in the body of the church, and the altar was appropriately decorated with a vase of white Iceland poppies. Miss Grace, of New Plymouth, formerly of Kaponga, officiated at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a frock of shell pink ninon over charmeuse, and a beautiful veil which had previously graced her mother’s wedding. She carried a bouquet of pale pink roses and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sisters Mabel and Jean, the former wearing a frock of pale pink charmeuse with touches of lavender, and the latter a graceful frock of lavender. Both bridesmaids wore silver shoes and caps to tone, and carried bouquets of lavender and pink carnations harmonising with the colours of their dresses. Little Molly, another of the bride’s sisters, attended as a flower girl, and was attired in white organdi with satin trimmings. and bore a basket of rose petals and fragrant posies, which were distributed among the guests. The duties of best man were carried out hv Mr Gavin Menzies, of Wellington, and Mr. Oscar Brill acted as groomsman. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a string of pearls. To the chief bridesmaid he presented a cameo ring, to the second bridesmaid he gave a string of pearls, while a gold armlet formed the gift to the flower girl. The bride’s gift to the bridegroom was a set of ebonvhacked hair brushes. After the ceremony the party _ adjourned to the home of the bride’s parents, where the guests were received by Mrs Severne, who was attired in a French model frock of navy marocain embroidered .with petunia and gold, and wore a chic hat to match. Her bouquet was composed of petunias, carnations, and gypsophila. The bridegroom’s mother wore a frock of fawn marocain and black coat of ottomon silk, with a hat of corresponding shade, and carried a bouquet of ostremelias. Among others present were: Miss Krogh (Napier), aunt of the bride', the Rev. and Mrs Solomon). Mr and Mrs 1). Syme < Kith am). Miss Fvopkie (Stratford). Miss Corbett (Eltham). and Messrs G. Thorne'-George (Napier) and W. S. Montgomery. The customary toast list was honoured, and the opportunity was taken by the guests to view the. ujedding presents, which comprised a wide range of useful and ornamental gifts, including several cheques. Felicitations | extended to the accompaniment of showers of confetti and rice later sped the happy couple on their honeymoon, during which an extended tour is. being made prior to their taking up residence | at Wellington.
