Tlie widespread deep-root id character of the nationalist movement is evidenced by the successive failures of French efforts to separate the Druses from Moslems. The dominant military leaders of the revolt are now Yehya( Hayati, and Makomnied Ismail. The latter is a graduate of the military school in Germany and was chief of staff to Aliriza Pasha, who occupied Lebanon during the war. Hayati declares that the revolt is still in its infancy. He is now tra ning twelve thousand Druses and Hauranis, who will be read yto take the field in the spring.—Times.
