(From Our Own Correspondent.) DOG TRIAL CLUB. The annual meeting of the YYaverleyYYaitotara Dog Trial Club was held iji the Town Hoard rooms. Aiken for her splendid, services to the club. i SAYIAIMING. The weather has not been encouraging of late, and so far very little practice has been done bv Swimming Clnb members, but with the evening' meetings commencing next Monday more interest is 'hound to be taken by enthusiasts generally. In order to provide a stimulus to the male swimmers, the president (Mr C. Dallison') has presented a handsome silver cup for most points in handicap racing over 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards. The first heats in this series of races will be held on Aronday, November 30, at 6 p.m. A trophy will also be given for the ladies, the distances to be 25 yards and 50 yards. The terracing has been practically completed by an energetic working bee. and several improvements put in hand in readiness for the opening carnival on December 5.
