BUT NOT FOR SUZANNE. ENGLISH TENNIS FASHION. LONDON, Nov. 17. Suzanne Lenglen, although the originator of popular tennis fashions in the coloured bandeau and the sleeveless costume, with the knee-length ideated skirt, refuses, on the grounds of their ugliness, to adopt the latest English fashion of wearing men’s thick socks, rolled down to the ankle, over silk stockings. English girls find these “shock socks” give greater comfort, especially on hard courts.
