ANNUAL CONFERENCE

WELLINGTON, July 23. The Dominion Conference of the Protestant Political Association has opened under the presidency of Mr I. J. Bridger, of Eltham, Dominion President. There was a good attendance of delegates from all parts of New Zealand.
The president’s address stated that the association’s activities had- shown a distinct advanc'e during the year, and assistance had to be obtained for tho Dominion organiser. The balance-sheet disclosed a sound position. The president drew attention to the number of mixed marrjages that were talcing place in the Dominion. He stressed the necessity for Protestant churches establishing a Protestant Sunday at ’east once a year. The Dominion lecturer gave a comprehensive account of the work of the past year. Organisers’ reports of work in several districts were favourably commented upon by the conference. To-day’s proceedings were devoted to remits from the various groups, and officers will also be elected at this session.
