Mr. James Grahame, who was for many years in business in Patea, leaves on Monday for London, says the Press. Mr C. Carter, of the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce, arrived in Hawera this- morning by the mail train. The Stratford Jersey Club has arranged for Mr. C-. J. 0. Dernier, of Cheltenham-, to act as judge at- the forthcoming -show in Stratford. The New Zealand Bacon Company has appointed Mr. K. MeNae its representative for the Hawera district. There were about 200 applicants for the position. Tlie loss, to Jersey breeders by the death of Mr. Frank Ranford was stressed by the lannual report of the Stratford Jersey Cattle Club in the following reference: “The loss of the cluib’ts -p-reside-rut, Mr. Frank Ranford, very considerably disorganised the working o-f the club, and several functions usually held were in consequence abandoned for the year. A special meeting of members was called immediately after Mr. Ranford’s death, when resolutions l of sympathy with his wife and fami.lv, appreciation of the many services, he rendered to the club and the breed, were parsed. His loss is very fully realised by the committee apd members of the club.” ■
