The Yen. Archdeacon F. G. Evans and Mrs. Evans, of New Plymouth, arrived at London by the lonic. After August they hope to tour throughout the IS or th of England into Scotland. A Press Association message from Palmerston North reports the death of Captain George Augustus Preece, N.Z.0., aged 80. He was a wellknown veteran of the Maori War and had been resident magistrate at \Vairoa and Oipotiki for twelve years, a magistrate at Napier and later ’at Chriistehiurch.
