CIRCUIT QUARTERLY MEETING

The quarterly meeting of the Methodist Church representatives was held last night, when there was an ex ellenl attendance of officials and members. The Rev. \Y. J. Oxbrow presided. The financial secretary (All* Goldsmith) presented the balance-sheet, which showed a substantial credit balance.

As the church anniversary services at Hawera and Normanby will he celebrated during the current quarter, special colle tions were authorised. Mr Candy presented the balancesheet of the Foreign Alission banquet, which showed a satisfactory credit. Air Candy was accorded the thanks of the meeting for the special service rendered .

'The reports of Sunday schools throughout the circuit revealed progress and faithful work by the- teaching staffs of the various schools. The importance of the Young Worshippers’ League was commented upon, and it was decided that the cost of literature for the league he borne equally by the Circuit Fund and S.S. Fund.
