LOST FROM THE! VATICAN. POLICE! RECOVER THEM. dY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYEIGHT Received July 8, 10.5 a.m. ROME;, July 6. Vatican jewels which, were stolen few days ago have been recovered. Three of the thieves were discovered among the workmen who were repairing the Treasury. They refused to disclose where the plunder was hidden, but a detective, pretending to be a buyer, gob in touch with a. shoemaker who -was a suspected receiver. The latter revealed the haul, whereupon the police broke in and seized chalices minus gems, wheh were discovered in a ptair of shoes. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
