N.Z. FARMERS’ UNION.

TOKAORA BRANCH. At the annual meeting of the Tokaora branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union Air' A. J. Haseltine presided over a fair attendance of members. The work of the previous year was briefly sketched by Air Batten, who reported also that the branch was in a satisfactory financial position. Officers, were elected as follows: President. Mr A. J. Haseltine; vicepresident, Air F. Mills, iunr.; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr H. E. Batten; auditor, Air F. Alills, senr.; committee, Atessrs Wells, H. Wren, Johnson, Francis, S. Washer, and officers ex officio; delegates to conference, Alessrs H. E. Johnson and H. AVeHs. It was decided to invite Messrs Day and .Williams, of Hamilton, to address members on the subject of mammitis on a day to be arranged. Air Johnson stressed the value of the scheme, and said, that it would be a good thing to have the details put before them.

It was decided that Air Wood, veterinary surgeon, of Waitara, be asked to give a series of lectures on dates to be arranged. An offer to provide a cow for demonstration and dissecting was made by Mr Wren, and of a shed for the demonstration by Mr H. AVells. Both were accepted with thanks. A motion was carried to hold a social—euchre and dance—on date to he arranged. A suh-oommittee was set up consisting of Alessrs. Williams, Wells, Mills, Johnson and Haseltine to make arrangements for social functions.
