WOOL SITUATION.
DEPRESSION IN VALUES.' REFLECTED IN AMERICA. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHI NEW YORK, May S. The situation which has developed in the world’s wool markets is interestingly reflected here, both as to the' actual market conditions and the eomment- in various quarters. Cousidernb'e attention is given to the report ol the Commissioner for Australia, in the 1 United States ("Mr J. A. M. Elder) to, the Australian Prime Minister (Mr S. M. Bruce), in which Mr Elder said the general use of motor-cars and wireless had been one factor in causing depression in the woollen industry in America. The recent cancellation of the colonial wool sales and 'he peculiar situation of" the London auction, coupled with Moitday’s cancellation of the sale at Brisbane' and to-day’s action of the Australian brokers and growers, has developed somewhat- pessimistic expressions in wool circles.
