We quote:' Lambs to 24s lid, fat cows £5 to £6 12s 6d, store and boner cows at late rates, weaner Holstein steers £2 14s, other weaner steers. .to £2, best Jersey weaner heifers £3 15s, other Jersey weaners £2 13s 6d. * At Stony River, on Tuesday, we report a small yarding, the whole of which was disposed of at satisfactory rates. At Manilla, on Tuesday, the sth inst., we had a heavy yarding to a full muster of buyers, graziers being keen for cows showing condition provided they were empty. Pigs were hard to sell, vendors meeting the market, everything being sold with the exception of one pen. We quote: Good stores 26s to 26s 6d, stores 20s to 235, weaners (good) 17s, others 10s to 13s, 'fat heavy-weight ewes 375, fat cows £5 13s to £6 6s, forward empty cows £3 5s to £4 17s, heavy works cows £4 to £4 ss, others £2 10s to £3 10s, canners, £1 'to £2 ss, works bulls ’£3' to £3 13s, sound 20-month hulls £3,10s to £4 12s . 6d, weaner heifers to 375, dairy heifers £6 10s. At Opunake, on Monday, the 4th inst., despite the rough weather, we report a good yarding for the day. We quote: Fat cattle (prime cows) to £7 Bs, fat £5 10s to £6, heavy works cows to £5, others £2 15s to £3 15s, canners £1 5s to £2 10s, empty young cows £3 5s to £4, bulls to £4 2s 6d, small weaner steers 31s, small weaner heifers 21s.
