FENNELL SCHOLARSHIP.
CONCERT TO ASSIST FUND. When Walter Fennell secured his scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music, London, a number of residents interested in the furthering of musical effort resolved to help him so that he would he better able to continue _ his studies. Concerts and other functions were organised, and a certain number of residents agreed to give an annual subsidy to the fund. Now a further amount is required, and the committee is organising a second concert, fixing the date for Thursday, May 21, in the Opera House. An excellent programme is being arranged, at which many of the leading artists will assist. It is notified that seats may be reserved at Mrs Cook’s, and all interested are urged to do everything in their power to help the project.
