DRUIDS’ EUCHRE PARTY.

CUR‘STMAS TREE FI NDS. TO BENEFIT MATERIALLY. With a view to again brightening the children’s Christmas, the Druids held a euchre party and dance'in the Foresters’ Hall last night, the function being the first of a series of such entertainments held with a view to raising money for the Druids’ Christmas tree fund. About 150 players took part in .the tournament and prizes were won as follow — Ladies: Mrs. Vincent Ist (tea set), Mrs. Comber 2nd (brush and comb), Mrs. Turnbull 3rd (glass jug), Mrs. Duggan 4th (photo frame), Miss Loader silent prize (jam dishes). Gentlemen: Mr. Brewer Ist (shirt), Mr. Higgs 2nd (clock), Mr. White 3rd (kettle), Mr. Muir 4th (safety razor). The men’s silent prize, a tin of cigarettes, was qiot claimed. An excellent supper was provided by Mesclames Adams and Vinten assisted by theii- friends, after which about 109 couples joined in dancing . until an early hour. Tiio Sere under s’ Orchestra provided the dance music, which was greatly enjoyed b.v all present, while Mr. W. Ramsay made an efficient M.G. Thanks are due to Mr. W. Adams and a hand of willing helpers who organised the tournament and dance, for as a result the function the Christmas tree fund will benefit to a considerable extent.
