HOMES IN MOTOR CARS. LONDON, Oct. 2. Nearly 2000 of the most A’aluable dpgs in the country, some secluded behind thick sheets of glass, others snugly Avrapped in rugs, figured in the 63rd annual shoAA' of the Kennel Club at the Alexandria Palace, Wbod Green, London, N., yesterday. The Pekingese and other small dogs had the most sumptous treatment. In previous years these h n.vc been supplied by some oAvner s with portable homes, lined AA’ith silk and cusions, but this year their caraA’ans de luxe are still further improved. In some cases owners have had their cars extensVely altered, so that the portable home for their dogs fits as snugly as the accommodation for human passengers.
More than 70 different kinds of doo-s yapped in chorus throughout the dav the rarest being the Ipathetic-lookiiig Griffons and Belgium, the fox-like Schipperkes, the Paoillions from fiance, and the Salukis, the hunting nonncls of the Arabian desert If they were not so rare the Griffons would undouotedly he a fashion among women. The foreign entries included Lhasa terriers and Afghan hounds. Ihe owner of one of thd most .successful dogs took many of his friends outside the hall to see this favourite of all lu s clogs— an undefinable mongrel that Avas patiently aAvaiting him on "the rules of the show'AvonId not allow of ms admittance.
