A very satisfactory reply has been received to the representations made for the establishment of a dental clinic at Hawera. and in all probability the scheme will come into operation here very shortly. Convinced that a dental clinic wovdd be of great benefit to the school children of this district, the chairman of the Hawera school committee (Mr. J. W. Harding) has been continually making representations, and he has now received a telegram from i-he Director of Dental Hygiene (Col. flu liter) stating that he was now prepared to establish a dental service at Hawera, but before doing so he re-qni-ed an assurance from the school '•onim’tt-ee that they would provide suitable room's fitted up for hygienic puroos.es by the end of the year. Tim chairman replied to the effect that his committee had secured a suitable room, and were prepared to do. anything within their power on lines similar to those adopted in other towns.
