Ltd., report having held their first hogget sale of the season at the Marton vards on -, 9th ’ nst -> when they yarded WJOO odd hoggets,. the- great majority of which were first-class sheep in tiptop condition. Buyers were present from all parts, and although the sale was inclined to drag at first owing, no doubt, to the rough weather experienced all over the island having checked the feed, we disposed of about 5000 of our entry at prices satisfactory to vendors. The following is the range of prices:—Good ewe hoggets, 27s Id to 30s Id; medium ewe hoggets, 25s to 26s 4d; good wether hoggets, 25s 6d to 27s 6d ; medium wether hoggets, 23s 3d to 24s 4cl; medium m.s. hoggets, 19s lOd to 24s Id ; small hoggets. 15s to 16s 9d : B.F. hoggets. 20s 9d to 22s 6d ; 4 and 6-tooth wethers, to 32s 7d ; small 2-tooth ewes r.w.
