Continuous pumping of drains kept the river from flooding, but with a further rise a flood cannot be prevented. (Cabinet has approved of the proposal to exempt from taxation for a period of four months all articles of clothino foodstuffs,, and shelter materials intended for the relief of the flood sufferers.
