CONFERENCE OF CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE.

The Secretary of the Palmtrston Chamber of Commerce has forwarded to the secretary of the local Chamber a copy of the following resolution passed at Palmerston last week : " That a conference of Chambers of Commerce between Napier and Carterton, including Palmerston North and Feilding, be held to discuss general railway facilities between this East and West Coast, more especially in connection the question of the Main Trunk Service as it affects the districts referred to " In the course of his letter the Palmerston secretary states: "In consequence of this resolution it has been arranged to hold such a conference of Chambers of Commerce on Tuesday nth May at 11.30 a.m. at Palmerston North, and to invite your Chamber to be represented thereat. Kindly oblige by stating whether you will be represented, who will represent you, and what items you desire to introduce for discussion—the information to reach me not later than Thursday the 6th May."
