Hastings Fire Brigade.

MONTHLY MEETING

The monthly meeting of the Hastings Fire Brigade was held at the Brigade station on Tuesday evening. Between twenty and thirty members were present, Captain Brausche occupying the chair. Councillor Hughes, as one of the Fire Brigade, was also present. THE BOOKS. Captain Brausche said that before the meeting commenced he would like to know if a'l the books of the Brigade were present, as he intended asking Secretary George several questions. Secretary George : The usual books are here.

Captain Brausche; Have you the Bank book ?

Secretary George ; It is either at the Bank, or in the hands of the Treasurer. I have not got it. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. NEW MEMBER. Michael Kirby was elected a working member of the Brigade. CORRESPONDENCE. From a Southern firm stating -that they had started a new fireworks industry.—Received, From the Dannevirke Brigade, inviting members of the Brigade to a smoke concert on March 9th. Received. From the Hastings Brass Hand, stating that they would join in the proposed sports gathering at Easter. Received. AC'COCNTS. Several accounts were presented, but the Secretary stated that there was no money with which to pay them. OFFICERS REPORT. The officers reported that everything was in order. LEAVE OF ABSENCE. Leaye of absence for a fortnight was granted to Foreman Keith, Branchman Chapman being requested to act during his absence.
