FATAL FIRE IN NELSON PINE PLANTATION
FOUR ACCIDENTS DURING WEEK-END
As the result of accidents over the week-end, three adults and a small child were admitted to Grey River Hospital. While engaged at his work on Saturday, William Thomas Wallace, aged 39, years, married, of Seddon Street, Kumara, had the nusfortune to come in contact with a revolving circular saw, sustaining injuries necessitating amputation of the index linger of his loft hand, ■ Mrs Mary O’Donnell, of Alexander Street, collapsed at 8 o’clock Mass at St. Patrick’s Church yesterday. After receiving medical attention from Mr J. Atkinson, she was removed by ambulance to Grey River Hospital. Kathleen Casserly, aged 10 years fell down a 15ft embankment while playing with other children at Taylorville yesterday morning. She suffered abrasions to her face and knees. After receiving medical attention from Dr. J. J. Shaunessy. she was admitted to Grey River Hospital. William Gillan, aged 37, years, single, a railway worker, of Greymouth, slipped and struck his head late last evening. After receivmg tention from Dr. J. O’Shaunessy, she was admitted to Grey River Hospital. Those four inmates were, W evening, reported to be progressing favourably.
