AUSTRALIA CALLS CONFERENCE ON S.E. ASIA CRISIS

(Rec 10.30) CANBERRA. Nov 8. Australia has invited N( w Zealand and the United Kingdom to confer in Canberra this week on the Southeast Asian situation. The Minister of External Affairs, Dr. Evatt, announced this tonight. The secretary.of the New Zealand External Affairs Department, Mr A. D. Mclntosh, and the head of the Far Eastern Section of the United Kingdom Office, Mr Denning, would join Australian diplomats from all points of the Pacific, said Dr. Evatt. ‘‘Reports will be received and views exchanged in relation to the wholesituation in South-East Asia and the Pacific, also the possibility of pushing on with the Peace Treaty for Japan and the position in Indonesia.” said Dr Evatt. Dr. Evatt will head the Australian delegation.
