OBITUARY
Mr John Burrows
The death occurred at Greymouth yesterday ' morning, after a lengthy illness of Mr John Burrows, aged 73, of Ahaura. A single man, Mr Burrows lived all his life at Ahaura. As a young man, he was employed as a contractor by the Grey County Council, and later took up farming. He retired four years ago. Mr Burrows took an active interest in local affairs, being a past chairman of the Ahaura School Committee, and a past member of the Ahaura Hall Committee and Domain Board. He is survived by one sister, Miss M. L. Burrows (Auckland', and two brothers, Walter Samuel (Ahaura) and Frederick Oscar (Hokitika). The funeral will take place at the Ahaura cemetery following a service at St Stephen’s Church, Ahaura to-morrow afternoon.
