THE TURF Programme For Greymouth T.C. Jubilee Meeting
The Greymouth Trotting Club will offer £5OO stakes in two races at its 6O.th jubilee meeting at Victoria Park on January 5 and 7. The main race on the first day, the President’s Handicap for horses assesed at 3.46 over a mile and five furlongs has a stake of £5OO. The Greymouth Jubilee Cup on the second day will also carry a stake of £5OO, and will Joe over a distance of two miles for horses assessed at 4.42 or faster. The programme is:—
First Day:—Express Handicap, of £175; 4.0 class; one mile and five furlongs; Brunner Handicap, of £175, 3.56 class, one mile and five furlongs; Improvers’ Handicap, of £2OO, 3.52 class; one mile and five furlongs; Victoria Park Handicap, of £350; 4.45 class; two miles; President's Handicap, of £5OO, 3.46 class; one mile and five furlongs; Summer Handicap, of £175, 4.10 class; one mile and five furlongs; Members’ Handicap, of £175, 3.56 class; one mile and five furlongs; Paparoa Handicap, of £250, (equivalent to 2.54 for 11 miles) one mile and three furlongs. Second Day:—Runanga Handicap, of £175, 4.0 class; one mile and five furlongs; New Year Handicap, of £175, 3.56 class, one mile and five furlongs; Diggers’ Handicap, of £2OO, 3.52 class; one mile and five furlongs; Greymouth Jubilee Cup, of £5OO and trophy, 4.42 class; two miles; Dominion Handicap, of £350. 3.49 class; one mile and five furlongs; Railway Handicap, of £2OO, (equivalent to 2.56 fop 11 miles), one mile and three furlongs; Electric Handicap, of £325 (equivalent to 2.52 for 11 miles), one mile and three furlongs.
