NEW APPOINTEES TO TRIBUNAL FOR. GOVERNMENT SERVICES
P.A. WELLINGTON, Nov. 5 The Prime Minister, Mi' Fraser, announced, to-day, that, following the amendment to the Government Services Tribunal Act last session, the Government has decided, to approve the following appointments to the Government service tribunal:— Judge, Mr W. F. Stilwell (as chairman), Mr J. A. E. Engel (as representative of the Government), Mr J. W. Davidson (as representative of the employees, on the nomination of the organisations concerned. The appointment by the GovernorGeneral of Mr W. F. Stilwell as a Judge of the Arbitration Court, means that the tribunal, as now constituted, will be in accord with the agreements reached between the Government and Public Service Organisations. The representative of the Government, Mr Engel, is tile Deputy-Direc-tor-General on the administrative side of the Department of Health. Mr Davidson who has been appointed on the recommendation of the public service organisations, is employed in the Child Welfare Branch of tjie Department of Education. In regard to the amendment to the Government service Tribunal Act, of 1949, where provision is made for the appointment of a conciliator, the Government has decided to> appoint Mr B. L. Dallard (until recently under-secretary o£ Justice and Controller Generol of Prisons. Hon. R. Eddy, M.L.C., the present representative of the employee organisations, has resigned, as has Mr E. Casey, who has been acting as the Government representative on the Tribunal.
