BLAZING PLANE FALLS INTO THE SEA OFF BERMUDA ISLAND
Twelve Lives Lost (Rec. 9.50). HAMILTON, Nov. 4. There were fifteen men on board a Superfortress plaiN which crashed in flames Into the sea about a mile off the coast of Bermuda to-night. Four of them escaped, being rescued by a boat,'but one of the four died later from burns. The eleven other men were killed. The plane was attached to the weather reconnaissance squadron at the Kindley Field. The plane had just left the airfield when it caught fire and fell into the sea. (Rec 11.40) HAMILTON, Nov 4. Reports say ten of the 13 aboard the Superfortress were killed. The Superfortress was returnng to its base due to the failure of one of its engines. It was refused permission to land, as another aircraft was on the runway. The superfortress was unable to regain altitude and crashed into the sea.
