BOXING No West Coast Boxers For Empire Games Trial at Timaru

The two West Coast amateur boxers who had been selected to take part in next month’s trials, to be held at Timaru, before the selectors of the New Zealand team to participate in the British Empire Games at Auckland next February, have withdrawn. They are M. Tuck (middleweight) and B. Eder (lightweight).

Tuck went into training after being chosen as a triallst, but a back injury, which prevented him from defending his national title this year still affected him. Eder’s decision was made through an increase in weight, which put him in the welterweight division.
