BUSHMAN INJURED AT CAMERONS

The head bushman employed at the United Sawmills, Ltd., Mr Jim Calder, while working in the bush at Camerons early yesterday afternoon, was struck on the head by a limb of a tree, and sustained a severe cut on the head, for which he was treated at the out-patients’ department of the Grey River Hospital. The accident occurred after a tree, which was being felled, became entangled with anol her standing nearby. In an endeavour to disentangle the two trees, a winch was used, and while it was operating, a branch which was previously entangled became loose and swung out, striking Calder on the head. When he was struck there were three men standing with him. Mr Calder was able to return to his home last evening.
