AIR LINER’S FORCED LANDING IN N.S.W.

(Rec. 11.0). SYDNEY, October 12. Shortly after taking off from Tamworth, an Avro Anson airliner, owned by the East West Airlines, made a forced landing in a field. Its pilot, Captain John Rentell, was seriously injured, and three passengers sustained slight injuries. Experts say that Rentell displayed superb judgment in getting the powerless machine down

without a major disaster. The whole front of the machine was smashed in, and Rentell was pinned against the bulkhead.
