Tibetans Afraid of Chinese Communists
(Rec 9.50) CALCUTTA, Oct 11. The Dalai Lama and Regent ot Tibet are both anxious to know what help they can expect from the West to prevent the Chinese Communists from overrunning their country, said Mr Lowell Thomas, the United States writer and radio commentator, who has arrived at Calcutta from Tibet, states the United press. Mr Thomas suffered a leg injury last month when thrown from his horse while returning from Lhasa. He was carried by natives to Silhuri, in West Bengal, and flown from there to Calcutta in a United States plane. There was no chance of Tibet going Communist voluntarily, Mr Thomas said. “It is one of the most anti-Communist countries I have ever seen.”
