SIX COMMUNIST GOVERNMENTS RECOGNISE CHINA’S NEW ONE

LONDON, Oct. 4

The Czechoslovakian Government is the fourth nation to recognise Communist China. The first three were Russia, Bulgaria and Rumania. Hungary to-day became the fifth nation to recognise the new Chinese Communist People’s Republic.

Poland became the sixth nation to establish relations.

Moscow newspapers there quoted London diplomatic circles as forecasting British recognition of the Chinese Communist Government. “Britain is realistically approaching the question,” was the tenor of reports.

In Washington to-day the State Department disclosed an official request for United States recognition has been received from the Chinese Communist Government. A State Department, spokesman said there were no immediate plans for a reply or for formal action.
