With total sales of £69,925, New Zealand’s first-day sales of 1949 health stamps exceeded last year’s all-time record by £3272. Christchurch had the highest sales figures with £10,457. Dunedin was first to reach its quota, exceeding it by £2OOO, and Wanganui was second.
