14 Lives Lost (Rec. 9.5 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 27 Two four-engined R.A.F. Lincoln bombers collided in mid-air near Newark. Twelve bodies have been recovered. Two men are missing. (Rec. 11.7). LONDON, Sept. 27. After the mid-air collision, the remaining two airmen were found dead, making the total dead fourteen. The two Lincoln bombers dropped in flames, and the wreckage was strewn over a wide area. They were taking part in a mock raid on Newark, early this morning, marking the final stages of the exercise “Bulldog”, in which United States, Dutch, Belgian, and French aircraft were participating with the R.A.F. over England. The bomber burned, preventing rescuers from approaching. There were no survivors. Plane Missing in Victoria MELBOURNE, Sept. 27 A R.A.A.F. plane with a crew of five have been missing since 2.30 p.m. yesterday. An Air Board spokesman said that the R.A.A.F. held out little hope for the plane’s safety. R.A.A.F. planes searched until a late hour last night and continued to-day.

The missing plane is a twin-engined Avro Anson, which took off from the East Sale R.A.A.F. station on a twohour cross-country training flight.

The airfield has received no message from the aircraft since it left.
