Master P. O’Farrell Receives Catchment Board Prize At School Break-up

• -■ -'v- x. cs-L.i'JLEIEL’S! At the end of term break-up ceremony of the Marist Bros. High School yesterday, the Mayor, Mr F. F. Boustridge, presented P. O’Farrell with the Westland Catchment Board’s prize for the winning entry in its recent, essay competition. Present at the function were Mr H. N. Pyne (secreary of the Catchment Board), .’he Kt Rev Monsg. J. Long and the Rev Father T. Daly (school chaplain). The director, Bro. Maurice, stressed the importance of the work being done by catchment boards m New ‘Zealand in conserving the country s greatest natural wealth, the soil. He -commended the board on its efforts to stimulate the interest ox youciis in work of th° ft’*'-'? . Prior to presenting the nrize, Mr Boustridge addressed the assembled school and pointed out the outstanding merits and qualities of the essay.
