Increased Assistance In Education
WELLINGTON, Aug 18. In his Budget speech tonight, R't Hon. W. Nash stated.—To assist paT ents who are required to board their children away from home in order to attend school, it, is pronosed t increase the boarding allowances paid on account of children attending both primary and post-primary schools. These increased allowances will be payable from the beginning of the next school year, February 1 1950.
Similarly, it is intended to give increased Inancial assistance to students attending Un versify by in creasing the values of Unive”sit.. scholarships and bursaries. Regulations to implement these proposals will be issued in due course.
