WOOL PRICES AT NAPIER SHOW CONSIDERABLE DECLINE

Considerably lower price levels ruled for the final Hawke’s Bay wool sale of the present season, according to the official report, which stated:— “The final sale of the 1948-49 season was held at Napier to-day before a fully representative bench of buyers, when competition was well spread but at considerably lower price levels, compared with our previous sale. The prices were very firm on recent auctions. “Half-bred wools and lambs, in particular, were most affected by the drop in prices. There was practically a total clearance of all the catalogues to the trade”.
