BODY OF RECLUSE FOUND IN ESSEX AFTER TEN YEARS

LONDON, March 22. The police, unearthing debris at the home of Miss Ada Constance Kent, a recluse missing for ten years, discovered her body tp-day beneath a heap of rubble. Miss Kent, then aged 66, disappeared in March, 1939, from her cottage at; Fingringhoe, Essex, where she had lived for seven years.

Investigations into her disappearance were reopened this week when it was found that an account in her name in a co-operative society savings bank had lain dormant for ten years. The interior of the cottage has remained as Miss Kent left it. The bed was still made and books and ornaments still decorate the sideboards and cupboards. The mystery of Miss Kent’s disappearance had been investigated three times previously by the police without results. During their search, the police found documents which suggested that she had a stage career under the name of Vera Verschayle.
