ANIMALS FOR ZOO

WELLINGTON, Feb. 25

Alligators, lizards 10 feet long, turtles, and other reptiles will soon be seen in Wellington. If a building permit can be obtained by the Wellington Zoo, these creatures will be on show in a newly-constructed rentile pit. Three monitor lizards are already on order from Singapore. Alligators will be ordered after the mt is constructed. Almost the only reptiles not represented in the pit would be snakes, said the curator of the zoo (Mr C. J. Cutler). As New Zealand was free of snakes, it was forbidden to land them. Ten-foot lizards and other animals were on order from Singapore and were expected in Wellington in the next ves' sei from the East. The consignment would include' six flamingoes, three porcupines, and eight Java monkeys.
