Westport Swimming Club

At a meeting of the Westport Swimming Club, it was decided to invite the Greymouth Club to compete for the John Burns Cup at an afternoon carnival on Saturday, March 5, when the newly-formed Millerton and Denniston Clubs will be invited to nominate members for the handicap events. All nominations are to close on Tuesday, March 1. It was also decided to endorse the action of the delegates to the recent conference at Greymouth in offering to donate the net proceds of that carnival to the West Coast Centre. A suggestion is to be made through the Centre that each club should be expected to make a liberal donation every year to the funds of the controlling body of swimming on the West Coast.

Mr L. Grogan, of Runanga, is to be approached concerning his appointment as Westport delegate on the West Coast Centre.
