TEKAPO DISPUTE
PA WELLINGTON, Feb. 24. The Minister of Works, Hon.- R. Semple, commenting on the Tekapo strike, said that it was actually over a minor matter concerned with rhe interpretation of the New -Zealand Workers’ agreement by the acting engineer-in-charge of the job, a capable officer, who, however, was comparatively unfamiliar with the. departmental procedure. The engineer-in-charge. Mr Deans Richie, had been recalled from leave, and as a result of discussions between senior officers o? the department and the men, matter* had been adjusted satisfactorily and work resumed.
