SIAM PROCLAIMS STATE OF EMERGENCY
(N.Z.P.A.—Reuter) (Rec. 10.40) BANGKOK, Feb. 24. A Royal Decree, proclaiming a state of emergency throughout Siam, was formally promulgated to-day. A communique stated that this measure has been necessitated by the situation in the neighbouring countries. It urged the public not to be alarmed. It cautioned the. press against any publication detrimental to the national interests, and it appealed to the business community not. to resort to hoarding or to profiteering.
