ATLANTIC PACT AND U.S. MILITARY AID FOR EUROPE
(Rec. 7.20) LONDON, Feb. 23 The Permanent Commission of the Five Brussel’s Treaty Powers is meeting in London to-day to consider the draft of the Atlantic Pact as it has emerged from the latest Washington discussions. These, as The Times diplomatic correspondent points out, have been concerned, mainly with the text of the Treaty Article m which the obligations of the signatory Powers to assist each other in the event of aggression is defined. The result achieved will be discussed at to-day London meeting which-; will also instruct the Ambassadors of the Brussels Treaty Powers in Washington on the attitude which they should take. It is hoped that the situation will be greatly clarified by the weekend “The Times” correspondent adds.
