MONTREAL, Feb. 22 Mr George C. Machum, president of the British Empire Games of Canada, announced that it is expected that a team of up to 70 will be sent from Canada to the 1950 Empire Games in Auckland. AUCKLAND, Feb. 23 An offer of Papakura Military Camp for the accommodation of athletes and officials visiting Auckland for the 1950 British Empire Games was made by the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones) in a letter received by the organising committee for the games. The Minister indicated that the Army Department would make the camp available, and would also arrange for the provision of rations on a scale specified by the committee. Stores, bedding and dining facilities would also be provided, and assistance would be given with stores staff. The organising committee would be required to provide cooks,j orderlies, waiters and cleaning staff. Charges would be made for rations, lure oi buildings and equipment, and for the cost of electric power and gas.
