Now Showing: “My Ain Folk” and “High Conquest.” “MY AIN FOLK” From the heart of Bonny Scotland of the misty hills and silver lochs comes the heart warming romantic, drama, “My Ain Folk,” now showing at the Opera House and starring Mabel Constanduros, Norman Prince and Moira Lister.

This is the story of Scotland, the hills and lochs and the city where Scottish folk of all classes are playing their part in the war effort. ft is also the story of Jeannie, a young lass who has obtained local fame as a singer of Scottish songs, who leaves her peaceful country home to work in a factory making all kinds of equipment for the lifeboats on ships. Her departure for the city is celebrated with a party which coincides with the arrival of her childhood sweetheart, who is an officer in the Merchant. Navy. After the party they both depart to their respective jobs, longing for the day when the war will be over. However, much is to happen in the meantime. Jeannie becomes in great demand as a singer at factory concerts, etc., whilst her sweetheart’s ship is reported as lost and her sweetheart missing. Determined to work and do everything she t can to help those who sail the dan- ; gerous seas, she learns that the men in the factory are holding a meeting to strike. To avert this she arranges a big concert to be held in Glasgow where she is to sing and invites well-known artists to appear. She wins the. day not only in avoiding the strike but finds her missing sweetheart as a member of the audience. “HIGH CONQUEST” The associate feature, “High Conquest,” is laid against the pictorial background of the Swiss Matterhorn, and co-stars Anna Lee, Gilbert Roland and Warren Douglas. Regent Shows Now Showing: “Hazard,” starring Paulette Goddard and MacDonald Carey. ■ Paulette Goddard ' and Macdonald Garey are co-starred in Paramount’s new comedy, “Hazard” with a supporting cast that includes Fred Clark and Stanley Clements. Miss Goddard has the role of a society girl who has gambled herself penniless ‘and is heavily in debt to Clark, tough gambling king who

wants to marry her. Clark gives her a chance to wipe out her debt with the cut of a card. If she wins, they are even, if she loses, she marries him, Paulette loses, but she runs away. Clark hires private detective Macdonald Carey to bring her back, and Paulette leads him a merrv chase. What happens when he catches up with her makes “Hazard” a riot of laughs, adventure and romance,
